Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. - - - Margaret Mead
T.A.M.P.A. is not only a support group but a Florida non profit organization that is continually working to raise funds to help our military. We are a dedicated group striving to help in many different areas always reaching out wherever and
whenever it is possible.
For Valentine's Day 2012
we provided 50 home made "field pillows"
to help fill packages being sent by the St. Augustine, FL
group; Parents of A Son or Daughter In the Military.
Donna Porter and the Naples Woman's Club
have been supplying our care packages with dozens
of home made wool helmet liners for the troops
for several years now.
September 2011....it began.....
Operation Wounded Warrior TShirts
This project started with a small request via FB by a mom who's
son works at a hospital in Afghanistan where the wounded
did not have clean shirts to wear after they had been treated.
Within a week hundreds of shirts began arriving to be forwarded
to the hospital in Afghanistan.
Now we need to continue to collect shipping cost donations
to ensure that all the tshirts are sent for use.
Memorial Day/July 4th Weekends 2011
through local Starbucks Stores
we collected coffee for our troops!
We are ALWAYS Collecting Cell Phones
(funds raised pay for our operating expenses)
Paperback books donated and sent to deployed troops
Through the FL Braive Fund Grant, awarded to us in 2009, we were
able to purchase and distribute 1000 Wounded Warrior handbooks
& 250 Our Daddy Is Invincible children's books to
OIF/OEF Wounded Warriors, veterans & their families for FREE.
2010 Operation Tinker Bunny Basket
T.A.M.P.A. collected items to fill over 100 Easter Baskets for kindergarteners at Tinker Elementay School on MacDill AFB, Tampa. We met for a gathering assembled the baskets and then members caravanned to the base to personally deliver the baskets.
CARE PACKAGES ARE ALWAYS GOING OUT!
Care packages flow on a continued basis. Our first "signature piece" was an inspiration from Cyd's son after his first deployment and has become a tradition we continue to carry on today. Home made field pillows are sewn by a member of our group and are a great addition to each box that we send, for the first time, during deployments. These pillows are made out of patriotic material. They are convenient enough to roll up small, lightweight and can easily go anywhere. They draw great reviews from the troops and have become a much requested item.
Peet's coffee, cigars and helmet liners are also a special addition that we can add due to faithful supporters. When our coffers are low and we need financial assistance for shipping costs, Lea's Prayers & Postage (founded by our Gold Star Mother, "Momma Dee") ALWAYS steps in to make sure the packages are sent!
We have supported 3 different field hospitals that take care of our combat wounded sending many different specific items that are in need and being requested. For Christmas 2005, along with holiday care packages for the troops, we collected dog treats and toys to send to K9 units that were deployed who could not get these items for the dogs that work so hard to help bring safety to our troops. School supplies were collected for a local Air Force base elementary. We are always busy!

Some of our care packages include; On the Go Ping Pong!
Tools collected for Army unit in Iraq

Supplies donated to
